Colorado in July

The kids did great on the 5 hour drive up to Salida, Co. Hannah sings and wears her sunglasses on top of her head, "Like Mama does."

On our drive northwest to the cabin we stayed in from Salida.

The first time Kirk has been able to feed a deer. Hannah said at the beginning of the trip, after seeing a few deers, "Daddy I wanna feed a deer." We didn't think it would happen!!

Everything is green and beautiful around the Arkansas river valley. So many deer everywhere!

The view from our cabin. Funny, the youth camp I attended in high school is right in center of this photo. Who knew??

Daddy and Hayden in the cabin. Hayden was very curious and had a blast!!

What's that???????

Hayden and Grandma Julia hanging out at the cabin that she arranged for us from one of the doctors in town. Thank you Julia and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Sandell for a great place to stay!!

Since we've been back, Hannah keeps "looking for deers" every time we get in the car.

We also visited great Grandma Flossie's resting place, which is adorned with a new gravestone. We miss you Grandma!!
Hannah had fun running around the cemetery chasing deers that were grazing.

Hannah trying to escape again from the cabin to go see deers.

Such a cute, traditional cabin. The ski's and everything in the place were VERY OLD. Kirk found a book titled, "Traveling rules for Chaffee county" that instructed, "if your stagecoach is attacked by Indians, do not get out because you will get scalped."

There was an old piano there that Hannah and Hayden really enjoyed playing at 6am everyday when they woke up!!

We also enjoyed a beautiful and accomplishing game of golf in Buena Vista with Aunt Ave & Ruby, Uncle Dan, and Derek, but we have no pictures!

Hannah and Hayden enjoyed riding the 4 wheelers around Ave and Dan's house. Hannah also went down her first water slide, over 200 feet long!! She rode with Mommy and had such a blast, saying "Weeeeeee!" all the way down.
